Al Gammal Group Announces Partnership with Global Hospitality Chain BWH Hotels to Launch the First “Best Western Plus” Hotel Facing the Grand Egyptian Museum

In a strategic move reflecting international confidence in Egypt’s investment climate, El Gamal Group has announced a partnership agreement with the global hotel chain BWH Hotels to launch a new hotel project under the Best Western Plus brand. The hotel will be located directly in front of the Grand Egyptian Museum, one of the most anticipated cultural destinations in the world.

This step comes as Egypt prepares to inaugurate the Grand Egyptian Museum — the largest cultural project of its kind globally — expected to attract millions of visitors annually. The upcoming hotel will be the first internationally branded hotel in this dynamic area, offering a strategic location that combines strong investment potential with an integrated tourism experience.

The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Taha Al Gammal, Chairman of Al Gammal Group, Eng. Mohamed Farouk Hafeez, Vice Chairman, along with several senior executives of the Group. Representing BWH Hotels were Mujahid Basha, Director of Development for the Middle East and Africa, and Stephan Debloing, Managing Director of Development for Europe and the Middle East. The signing was also attended by Moulay Salah Oumouden, representing Wujhat Hotels & Resorts Management Company.

BWH Hotels is one of the largest international hotel chains, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, with operations across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
This partnership forms part of the company’s expansion strategy in the region, particularly following its growth in the Saudi Arabian market and its renewed entry into Egypt through high-impact collaborations.

Both parties confirmed that the agreement is a sub-franchise contract valid for five years, aiming to establish a strong and long-term partnership.

Eng. Mohamed Farouk Hafeez, Vice Chairman of Al Gammal Group, stated:
“We believe this partnership represents a new model for local tourism investment, bringing together our deep expertise in the Egyptian market with the global strength of the BWH Hotels brand. We aim to deliver an exceptional hotel experience that supports the local economy and creates real employment opportunities.”
Mujahid Basha, Director of Development for BWH Hotels, commented:
“We are delighted to expand our presence in the Egyptian market through this strategic project. The hotel’s location in front of the Grand Egyptian Museum gives it a truly global dimension, and we look forward to a strong partnership with El Gamal Group based on quality and the international standards we are committed to.”
The new hotel will operate under the Best Western Plus brand, categorized as a four-star hotel. It will feature 100 rooms designed to the latest international standards, along with various recreational and sports facilities, business services, and a commercial mall. Construction is scheduled to begin this July.

The project is expected to create both direct and indirect employment opportunities during its construction and operational phases. It will also contribute to transferring international knowledge and expertise into the Egyptian market through training and qualification programs for local talent.

This partnership reaffirms Egypt’s appeal as a destination for international tourism investment, particularly in light of the government’s efforts to develop the areas surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum and transform them into global attractions. It also highlights BWH Hotels’ confidence in Egypt’s economic stability and the promising opportunities within its tourism sector.
