Chery Group Partners with ACO to Strengthen Global Strategy Ahead of Auto China

On April, Chery Group, together with Wuhu Municipal People’s Government, signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Paris with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), the organizer of the world-renowned endurance race — the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The three parties will cooperate in building a motorsport ecosystem, promoting automotive culture, and integrating industrial development, opening a new chapter in China-France motorsport collaboration.
Notably, this Paris signing marks a key milestone in industrial and sports cultural exchanges between China and France, and strategically aligns with the upcoming 2026 Auto China & CHERY International Business Summit. At the event, CHERY will stage the global debut of multiple major new models and cutting-edge technologies, alongside safety challenges, long-distance road test experiences, and a family ecology exhibition to comprehensively upgrade its brand value. The partnership leverages top-tier motorsport IP to refine core technologies, while the Auto China & CHERY International Business Summit showcases brand strength with blockbuster products and immersive experiences — together fueling Chery Group’s globalization strategy.
With a century-long history, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is ranked among the world’s top three motorsport events alongside Formula 1 (F1) and the World Rally Championship (WRC). Unlike F1, which focuses on extreme speed, Le Mans is a non-stop 24-hour “marathon.” Multiple drivers take turns behind the wheel, with cars running continuously, and the winner determined by total distance covered. It tests not only speed but also reliability, fuel efficiency, and teamwork, earning a reputation as a “super testing lab” for automotive technologies.
“Chery Group will rely on the Le Mans platform to jointly develop core technologies and share industry expertise with ACO,” said Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery Group. He expressed the hope to refine technological strength through top-tier racing and elevate the global influence of Chinese auto brands.
Under the cooperation plan, Wuhu City will deepen collaboration with ACO to build a FIA Grade 1 circuit locally. Centered on motorsport, it will create a comprehensive industrial hub integrating sports and cultural events, tourism and leisure, vehicle testing, intelligent connectivity, chip R&D, and commercial services — deeply integrating motorsport with urban development and industrial ecosystems.
This Paris signing has built a new bridge for automotive industrial and sports cultural exchanges between China and France. Taking this cooperation as a link, the three parties will deepen multi-dimensional cooperation through the model of “international event IP + local industrial cluster + urban renewal,” supporting the high-quality development of China’s motorsport culture and related industries.
