banknbox, the region’s leading unified Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform, and Flash, one of Egypt’s leading digital payments platforms, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to introduce Egypt’s first Sound Box payment solution, marking a major milestone in the country’s digital payments landscape.

The launch follows Flash’s approval from the Central Bank of Egypt to introduce the Sound Box solution to the Egyptian market, combining Flash’s payments platform, merchant ecosystem, and local market expertise with banknbox’s robust Banking-as-a-Service infrastructure to bring next-generation payment technology to merchants across Egypt.

What Is a Sound Box?

Sound Box is a compact smart device placed at the merchant’s point of sale that delivers instant voice confirmation every time a digital payment is successfully completed. Instead of checking a mobile phone or payment terminal screen, the merchant hears a clear audio alert — confirming the amount received in real time.

Sound Box is designed to solve one of the most common friction points in digital payments: the uncertainty a merchant feels between the moment a customer pays and the moment the transaction is confirmed. With Sound Box, that gap disappears.
