Kaspersky Thin Client now enables enhanced performance

At GITEX, Kaspersky unveiled the latest version of its operating system for thin clients, Kaspersky Thin Client 2.3. This release offers superior device connectivity and delivers significant enhancements in performance, operational efficiency and security, reinforcing its position as a robust and reliable solution for modern IT environments.
According to Research Nester, the thin client market was valued at $1.64 billion in 2025 and is expected to reach $2.27 billion by 2035. The growth is driven by an increasing demand for affordable, secure, and easy-to-manage end-user computing solutions, where most of the processing is handled by a powerful centralized server. As this market continues to grow, Kaspersky has been regularly updating its own operating system for thin clients to better serve these evolving needs.
Kaspersky Thin Client is a microkernel-based operating system built on KasperskyOS, exemplifying the principles of a Secure-by-Design architecture. This approach entails integrating protective mechanisms from the inception of solution development, ensuring inherent security at every level. Centralized management is facilitated through Kaspersky Security Center, allowing for seamless configuration, monitoring, and control across diverse deployment environments. Leveraging its cutting-edge technological framework, Kaspersky Thin Client is ideally positioned to serve industries with rigorous security standards and demanding performance criteria.
Enhanced Performance and Security. The latest update introduces comprehensive support for UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), a modern firmware standard that replaces the traditional BIOS (Basic Input/Output System). UEFI enables faster system boot times and incorporates Secure Boot technology, providing a robust safeguard against unauthorized modifications during startup, thereby elevating the security posture of the system.
Device Connectivity. Kaspersky Thin Client 2.3 expands peripheral support, enabling compatibility with most USB drives, printers, scanners, webcams, and headsets available on the market, both in Windows and Linux environments. Through a unified management console, administrators can centrally configure monitors, applications, and even personalize desktops and lock screens. For end-users, this enables a more familiar user experience and support for common devices, while businesses benefit from reduced maintenance costs and increased infrastructure efficiency.
Additional Features. The solution has been further fortified with a range of new functionalities designed to elevate user convenience and operational efficiency. For instance, the desktop environment can now be tailored to display only selected applications according to user preferences, streamlining workflow and reducing clutter. The operating system interface can also be customized to adhere to the company’s branding standards, ensuring a cohesive visual identity. Moreover, support for videoconferencing has been integrated, enabling seamless remote technical assistance and fostering enhanced collaboration.
Kaspersky Thin Client 2.3 is available on hardware platform Centerm F620.
“Our ongoing efforts are dedicated to enhancing Kaspersky Thin Client, ensuring that our solution not only aligns with evolving market demands but also maintains an intuitive user experience. The demand for thin clients is continuing to grow, given their ability to help organizations mitigate cybersecurity risks. The Cyber Immunity approach that underpins Kaspersky Thin Client offers unparalleled data integrity and secure remote desktop connections, reinforcing the development of a dependable and resilient IT infrastructure,” comments Dmitry Lukiyan, Head of KasperskyOS Business Unit.
