Infinix Hosts AI and Robotics Workshop in Collaboration with UNESCO at the Canadian International College in Cairo

commitment to supporting digital innovation and interactive education for youth, Infinix, the leading smartphone brand designed for the young generation, organized a specialized educational workshop under the UNESCO STEM Education Project, in collaboration with Google. The workshop was hosted by the Canadian International College (CIC) in Cairo with the active participation of its students.
The workshop was part of the CogLabs initiative, supported by UNESCO and Google, which aims to empower students to explore concepts of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics through modern, hands-on applications.
Practical Learning with Smart Tools
During the session, students experienced a unique opportunity to build E3bot educational robots using Infinix smartphones and 3D-printed components. This gave them direct exposure to future-oriented technologies in an interactive and tangible way.
The program followed a three-step methodology: building, training, and programming. Students first assembled the robots with simple components powered by Infinix devices, then trained them to recognize images and sounds using Google’s Teachable Machine, before programming them to perform interactive tasks via accessible educational software.
This experience provided participants with a solid understanding of how AI can be integrated into real-world solutions, while also enhancing critical thinking, coding skills, and problem-solving abilities.
CIC’s Commitment to Future-Ready Education
In his remarks, Professor Khaled El-Kady, President of the Canadian International College in Cairo, expressed his pride in hosting the event, stating:
“We are delighted to collaborate with Infinix, UNESCO, and Google in organizing this unique workshop that offered our students an exceptional educational experience.”
He added:
“Education in the 21st century must go beyond traditional classrooms, providing students with direct, hands-on engagement with technologies shaping the future. Allowing our students to build and program robots using smartphones marks a significant step in preparing a generation capable of innovation and global competitiveness. At CIC, we are committed to supporting such initiatives that align with the technological revolution and contribute to building a knowledge-based economy founded on innovation.”
Infinix’s Vision: Empowering Youth
A spokesperson from Infinix Egypt emphasized that this initiative aligns with the company’s strategy to support digital learning and empower youth with practical tools for creativity. He said:
“We are proud to partner with UNESCO in this global program, and to be part of CIC students’ journey in exploring AI and robotics. Our vision extends beyond providing advanced smartphones; it is about investing in youth as the driving force of digital innovation.”
He further explained that using Infinix smartphones in building robots demonstrates how mobile technology can serve as a powerful educational tool, unlocking new opportunities for students in Egypt and worldwide.
UNESCO STEM Education Project: Breaking Barriers
The UNESCO STEM Education Project is one of the world’s leading educational initiatives, currently active in over 30 countries, reaching hundreds of thousands of students.
The project addresses challenges in hands-on technology education—such as high equipment costs and limited access to labs—by providing innovative, affordable solutions. These include repurposed smartphones, low-cost 3D-printed parts, and open-source educational software.
Beyond equipping students with future-ready skills, the initiative also promotes sustainability by reusing older devices and lowering costs, while narrowing the digital divide between developed and developing countries.
Egypt as a Regional Innovation Hub
Hosting this workshop at CIC, under the patronage of Infinix, highlights Egypt’s growing role as a regional hub for innovation and technology-driven education. With support from global players like Infinix, Egyptian universities are better positioned to offer high-quality, future-oriented learning experiences.
Empowering Youth Through “GET in now”
Infinix reaffirmed that this is just the beginning of its commitment to supporting education and innovation in Egypt. The company plans to expand its partnerships with local universities and educational institutions to empower young people with the tools they need to become the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs—fully aligned with its brand slogan “GET in now.”
