Majid Al Futtaim Brings Together Orphans and Children Battling Cancer for a Day of Joy and Hope Across Its Malls in Egypt

Majid Al Futtaim, a leading pioneer in shopping malls, communities, retail, and leisure across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, celebrated Orphans’ Day for the third consecutive year across its malls in Egypt. This year’s initiative expanded its reach to include not only orphans but also children battling cancer, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to social impact and community support.
In partnership with local NGOs Shabab Masryin, Al Balsam Al Shafi, and Jeel Al Amal Associations, Majid Al Futtaim welcomed 350 children across Mall of Egypt, City Centre Alexandria, City Centre Almaza, and City Centre Maadi. Through this annual celebration, children enjoyed a wide range of specially curated experiences, from entertaining movie screenings at VOX Cinemas and hands-on games at Magic Planet to skating adventures at Ski Egypt and thrilling challenges at Gravity Code. The event offered a day filled with joy, excitement, and unforgettable experiences, highlighting the company’s dedication to creating meaningful and lasting moments for the children.
The celebration was further enriched by a wide range of food offerings across all malls, supported by contributions from several tenant partners, including Carrefour, Buffalo Burger, McDonald’s, Tarbosh, Papa John’s, Country Hills, Ebn El Balad, La Poire, Caribou, Labash, iFruit, and Cinnabon. The experience was also complemented by a selection of donated giveaways, including clothing and footwear, from Funny Ride, Seven Secrets, ElKady Jewelry, Shousha, and Fouad Ahmed Jewelry, which contributed to a vibrant and memorable atmosphere for the children throughout the day.
Rasha Azab, Managing Director – Shopping Malls, Egypt and Lebanon at Majid Al Futtaim commented: “At Majid Al Futtaim, we are committed to creating spaces that bring together people and make a positive difference in their lives. Initiatives like Orphans’ Day allow us, together with our trusted partners, to extend that impact beyond our malls by creating moments of joy for children who need them most, including those battling cancer. Each year, we strive to make the celebration more inclusive, fostering compassion, resilience, and unforgettable moments that leave a lasting impression on both the children and the communities we serve.”
The Orphans’ Day celebration reflects Majid Al Futtaim’s longstanding mission in Egypt, where teams and partners come together annually to deliver experiences that go beyond entertainment, focusing on emotional well-being and inclusive initiatives that address the real needs of the local community.
