Egypt Market Cap Jumps 40% to $67.3 Billion as Forbes Unveils Top 50 Companies

Egypt’s stock market posted a strong rebound, with total market capitalization rising more than 40% to reach $67.3 billion as of January 2026, according to Forbes Middle East’s ranking of the country’s 50 most valuable listed companies.
The surge reflects a sharp recovery in Egyptian equities, supported by rising valuations and renewed investor confidence, positioning the market among the region’s fastest-growing in the past year

Top 50 Companies Dominate Market Value
The 50 most valuable listed companies accounted for a combined market capitalization of $55.8 billion, representing approximately 83% of Egypt’s total market value.
Over the past 12 months, the combined market capitalization of these companies rose by more than 48%, highlighting strong investor appetite for Egyptian stocks

CIB Retains Lead as Egypt’s Most Valuable Company
Commercial International Bank (CIB) remained Egypt’s most valuable listed company, with a market capitalization of $9.6 billion.
It was followed by Talaat Moustafa Group Holding in second place, and Elsewedy Electric in third.
Industrials Lead Gains Driven by Cement and Fertilizers
The industrial sector emerged as the strongest performer, driven by cement and fertilizer producers.
Ferchem Misr for Fertilizers & Chemicals recorded the largest gains, with its market value surging after a 746% increase in share price and a 2,180% rise in paid capital, following its merger with two companies and transition to the EGX main market.
Other top gainers included Misr Cement Group, Sinai Cement, and Misr Beni Suef Cement Company, with gains of 554%, 264%, and 222%, respectively.
Nearly half of the ranked companies saw their market value increase by more than 50%, while 10 companies declined. Egyptian Iron & Steel Company posted the sharpest drop, falling 35% amid ongoing liquidation procedures

Banking Sector Leads by Market Share
The banking and financial services sector dominated the ranking, with 14 companies contributing a combined market value of $21.2 billion.
The industrial sector followed with 11 companies and a total market capitalization of $12.4 billion.
